Duck Sighting in Post Magazine
Big Yellow Duck was featured in the July “Audio for Animation" article in Post Magazine. It was an honor to be included in the same article as famed Sound Designer Ben Burtt (Star Wars), who talked about his work on Wall-E. Post interviewed Executive Producer/Co-founder Matt Pedone and Sound Designer/Engineer Lou Esposito about our work on Disney’s Little Einsteins and our overall take on audio-post for animation. Lou was the series Sound Designer and fellow BYD engineer Ryan Heiferman was the Mixer. They worked on Little Einsteins for 65 episodes and 2 movies! We got a snazzy picture in there of Lou, Ryan and Matt. Post was interested in talking about gear and we love to talk gear. Click below to view a PDF of the article.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
That's the sound of Lou leveling up as he completed the mixes for Nintendo's new short films centered around the red-hot Nintendo DS. Gamers Afton, Crystal and Sharon are each featured in their own story depicting their daily lives and how much they enjoy playing the Nintendo DS, especially games like Super Mario, Nintendogs, and Brain Age.

The Nintendo DS films are being shown alongside of vignettes of America Ferrara, Carrie Underwood, and Liv Tyler, who also love their DS. The project was produced by DCODE and will be shown at www.iplayforme.com.

Snoop Dogg Loves The First 48
Recently, for the YES Network's 100th Episode of "Centerstage" w/ Michael Kay, special guest Snoop Dogg declared that he "loves that show 'The First 48'...it makes me cry." Although he stopped short of crediting Keith's mixing to his emotional state, we'll give Keith some credit for actually turning on the YES Network (he's a Mets fan) to view the show:) Congrats to Keith and whole 48 crew on getting an O.G. to shed a tear.

Andy Summers of The Police @ The Duck
Andy Summers recently spent the week recording at Big Yellow Duck for the upcoming documentary film based on his autobiography, One Train Later (pictured with BYD engineer Ryan Heiferman). Mr. Summers read excerpts from his book and was interviewed by director Lauren Lazin (The Last Days of Left Eye, Tupac Resurrection). It was a thrill to have Andy here but we made sure to play it cool. Most of us here have been around celebs before but Andy is a ROCK STAR. Big Yellow Duck co-founder and executive producer Matt Pedone in particular had to contain his excitement. "When (producer/director) Brett Morgen called to ask if we could fit Andy Summers in for a doc he was producing, my first reaction was that he was putting me on. Like as if I was going to say no! By the end of the week, it was sad to say goodbye to producer Katy Garfield, Lauren and Andy. We had gotten so used to having them around the studio. On the last day, I sheepishly asked Andy to sign my original vinyl copy of Regatta De Blanc for my son and he did so graciously."

We hope to have him back again soon!
